Giving this character a kiss?: Go for it. :|b Be aware that Hakkai might react a bit negatively to it, though, depending on the person.
Punching this character (provided they are given an opportunity to fight back): Yes, but asking first would probably be the safest bet.
Is there anything YOU DO NOT WANT MENTIONED near this character?: Not that I can think of. However, you might trigger his emo by mentioning dead [twin] sisters or suicide or kidnappings.
Oh and try to avoid the fourth wall? What with Journey to the West being a thing and all.
Is there anything you need us to KNOW about interacting with this character? Special physical features, fighting abilities, STUFF: Hakkai wears a monocle over a fake eye, but no one comments on the fake eye much in canon, so I'm assuming it's pretty convincing.
Also, if your character has the ability to sense youkai/demon energy or something -- they might pick up something very faint from Hakkai. Because he wears power limiters, he more or less registers as human, but that's not 100%, I'd assume. So yes! If you think your character can sense this, let me know.
